Astaxanthin is a carotenoid antioxidant sourced from algae, known for its ability to cross the blood–brain and blood–retina barriers. It protects skin, brain, and eyes from oxidative stress, supports endurance, and promotes mitochondrial health. Its antioxidant capacity far exceeds that of vitamins C and E.
